Diyala Police command sacked 1500 member including the director of the joint coordination office and number of officers for having connection with armed groups or fulfil their duties and obligations. The police commander maj.General Ghanim Al-Qureshi said in press conference: “The violation and abuse taking place within the security forces in Diyala contributed significantly in the deterioration in the security situation and the increase in the killing and displacements in different regions of this province”. The commander added “The approvals is obtained to allow 950 personnel , who are recommended and guaranteed by clans leaders, to joint Diyala police force to replace and fill the shortfall of this important security institution”.
